Experiential learning brings out the best in student

Image
There is an old adage which sums up experiential learning perfectly. “I hear & I forget I see and I remember I do & I understand.”   Wikipedia defines experiential learning as:” the process of learning through experience. “In experiential learning student engagement increases. It accelerates learning and it improves retention. It also enhancesstudent’s knowledge and skills. The act of doing makes learning extremely personal. Here are the reasons why experiential learning is the future learning. 1)    Experiential learning increases the effectiveness of learning. Students engage in critical thinking, acquire problem solving skills and engage in decision making. 2)    It provides a safe learning environment. It is natural that mistakes happen during the process of learning. But students learn through it, face it and it will brings out the best in students. 3)    It will bridge the gap between theory and practi...

THREE DIMENSIONAL OBJECT RECONSTRUCTION FOR ROBOTICS

Image
3D Measurements is still being a great challenge. Although a lot of research is involved in stereovision systems, most of the geometrical problems can be minimised when the system is used for industrial applications. Moreover, light control can be achieved allowing better segmentation results. The Robotics and Computer Vision Group at the University of Girona is involved in 3D Measurement developing systems for either research or industrial applications. Coded structured light is based on the projection of a light pattern that has been previously coded in order to solve the correspondence problem. Then, this light pattern is projected onto a scene and the captured by a camera. Linear a nonlinear calibration are used to model the camera and the pattern projector. Triangulation is applied to obtain 3D reconstruction of the scene and a single pattern projection allows the system to measure moving objects. Some application of this technique has been tested in an underwater robot as we d...

Internet of Things (IoT)

Image
Internet of things is a fresh evolving technology which aims at connecting things to the internet aiding an intelligent system to perform human tasks lacking human interaction. IoT comprises of variety of application domains such as Healthcare, agriculture, industrial automation, connected/Smart home, smart cities and many more. Healthcare system praises wearable sensors which monitors internal body behaviour changes and reports to a base station in the network for analysis and making decisions. Monitoring pressure, temperature, etc. leads to industrial automation and checking soil moisture, crop health, etc. contributes to agriculture/environmental monitoring systems. Smart home is a dominating application which contributes towards the household comfort of humans in carrying out day-to-day tasks. Home automation comprises of some intelligent devices or sensors which monitors different home appliances like lights, heating and cooling systems, doors and windows, etc. which are hook...

ROBOTICS IN FUTURE OF INDUSTRIES

Pick and Place Robots: What Are They Used For and How Do They Benefit Manufacturers? Figure-1: Composite-control-architecture-for-an-intelligent-autonomous-mobile-robot Pick and place robots have become commonplace in today’s manufacturing environment. Typically relegated to simple, repetitive and monotonous tasks that robots naturally excel at, pick and place robots bring a number of benefits for manufacturers. What are Pick and Place Robots Used For? Pick and place robots are used in many ways, depending on the product being handled and the manufacturer’s need for automation. There are four main ways that pick and place robots are used: 1.       Assembly:  pick and place robots, during assembly processes, grab an incoming part from a conveyor belt and then place this part onto another work piece, which is then typically carried away by another conveyor belt. 2.       Packaging:  similar to assembly proce...

CURRENT ENVIRONMENT PROBLEMS THAT OUR WORLD IS FACING

Image
CURRENT ENVIRONMENT PROBLEMS THAT OUR WORLD IS FACING. The  world environment  is going too much worst condition day by day as we use our natural recourses indiscriminately and fail to manage our waste. Our total environmental condition deteriorate in everyday life but we yet not concern ourselves for save us from different types of natural calamities and extinction of several types of animals spaces groups, it is true that only human are responsible for polluting environment, but if we have a little bit concern than it will make us positive thinker to save our environment. Population explosion: The first and foremost emerging problem in the world is  population explosion  that directly impact in our environment and every vital element of our environment such like water tree ,air,&  many other things . It causes poverty inflation of money, high price rate of daily commodities and creates thousands of problems which are too hard to solve us. ...

3D Printing

Image
Introduction 3D printing or additive manufacturing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. Additive manufacturing            refers to a process by which digital 3d design data is used to build up a component in layers by adding materials. The term “3D printing” is increasingly used nowadays as a synonym of additive manufacturing. 3D printing is the opposite of subtractive manufacturing which is cutting out a piece of metal or plastic with for example a milling machine. History Chuck Hull invented the first 3D printing process called ‘stereolithography’ in 1983. In a patent, he defined stereolithography as ‘a method and apparatus for making solid objects by successively “printing” thin layers of the ultraviolet curable material one on top of the other’.   SLA-1, the first 3D printer invented by Chuck Hull in 1983, https://www.3dhubs.com/ ...
